Requirements November 1932 until June 1948
1. Know the source and method of preparation of the best grades of leather for craftwork, tell what type of leather is best for each kind of leathercraft (such as tooling, stamping, moccasins, bookmarks, novelties, etc.).
2. Design and tool some object in leather such as a mat, blotter pad corners, billfold, magazine cover, belt; or design and stamp such an article, using at least two stamps manufactured by himself, presenting evidence of having personally made the stamps.
3. Know three methods of braiding leather, and produce an article made by himself of braided leather; demonstrate how to end braiding with a Turk's-head and how to make a sliding know.
4. Design and make a laced article, such as a knife sheath, axe sheath, camera case, first aid case.
NOTE- In Requirements 2, 3, and 4, recognized imitations of leather may be used.
