Requirements January 1925 until March 1927

The life scout badge is awarded to all first-class scouts who qualified for ten merit badges, provided that the ten chosen shall include the following: First Aid, Physical Development or Athletics, Personal Health, Public Health, and Life Saving or Pioneering.

Requirements March 1927 until May 1927

After a first class scout has furnished satisfactory evidence that he hs been actually putting into practice the ideals and principles of the Scout Oath and Law, the motto "Be Prepared" and the Daily Good Turn, and has made an earnest effort to develop his leadership ability, and has passed to the satifaction of the local court of honor or the examining committe ten merit badge tests, provided the ten include First Aid, Physical Development or Athletics, Personal Health, Public Health, and Life Saving or Pioneering, he may be enrolled as a Life Scout and is entitled to wear the life scout badge of the Boy Scouts of America.

Requirements May 1927 until June 1931

1. His record of satisfactory service as a First Class Scout, shall have been for a period of at least six months; and

2. He shall have qualified for ten Merit Badges, which shall include (1) First Aid, (2) Physical Development of Athletics, (3) Personal Health, (4) Public Health, (5) Life Saving or Pioneering.

Requirements June 1931 until November 1932

1. His record of satisfactory service as a Star Scout, shall have been for a period of at least three months; and

2. He shall have qualified for ten Merit Badges, which shall include (1) First Aid, (2) Physical Development of Athletics, (3) Personal Health, (4) Public Health, (5) Life Saving or Safety.

Requirements Nov 1932 until January 1952

1. His record of satisfactory service as a Star Scout, shall have been for a period of at least three months; and

2. He shall have qualified for ten Merit Badges, which shall include (1) First Aid, (2) Physical Development of Athletics, (3) Personal Health, (4) Public Health, (5) Life Saving or Pioneering or Safety.
